Gosatomnadzor took part in the IAEA technical meeting on spent nuclear fuel storage systems
During the event, participants discussed the behavior of spent nuclear fuel (SNF) during storage in all available SNF storage systems. Over the five days of the meeting, more than 40 technical presentations were presented, covering a broad range of topics significant to the justification of the long-term safety and efficiency of SNF storage.
During the event, the representative of Gosatomnadzor Ms. Valeryia Dzmitryieva gave a presentation titled “The Spent Nuclear Fuel Management System in the Republic of Belarus”.
The knowledge obtained during the meeting will be directly applied during inspections (supervisory activities) to ensure compliance with legislation on the safe operation of SNF management systems, as well as in the analysis and review of documents justifying safety of SNF management in the Republic of Belarus.
